The effectiveness of Premier Community HealthCare Group, Inc., is directly linked to a strong Board of Directors and how well the board operates. Premier believes that the selection of board members with appropriate skills for dealing with the complex and comprehensive health care environment is critically important. Members of Premier’s Board of Directors either reside or work in our service area. As required by the Bureau of Primary Health Care, 51% of our members are consumers of services provided at the community health center. This is important to enable our Board to have first-hand knowledge and experience in regard to the level of care provided. Many of our Board Members are key community leaders who serve on various community service organizations, local and state boards, and advisory committees throughout Florida. The Board Members meet monthly and operate under a committee and structure, e.g. finance, personnel, membership, compliance, executive, etc. and is active in the business affairs of the organization.
Board Members attend training conferences related to community health center operations and participate in strategic planning sessions every three years. The Board regularly addresses its compliance with all Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) expectations and related requirements to continue operating as a Federally Qualified Health Center. This is inclusive of hiring and evaluating the Chief Executive Officer, adopting policies and procedures, approving the annual budget and schedule of hours in which the community health center operates.
